Monkey on a Chain

When I was sixteen, I remember having the largest keychain collection around. I had one key and probably twenty-five obnoxious key chains rattling around in my purse. Finally, my parents decided to intervene and buy me a high quality keychain in hopes that I would discard the ratty lanyards and opt for something a bit more subtle. Well, it worked. I received this monkey from Coach and I have used it ever since, even though a good portion of the fur has rubbed off the monkey’s arms. Every time I pull out my keys it is a playful reminder not to take myself too seriously. It’s fun, charming, and semi-furry…yet still has a more grown-up feel than a giant ballet shoe or a beanie baby.
