Last
week, my mom went on a business trip and brought back a stuffed moose for
Payton, not that Payton didn’t have dozens of toys already scattered around the
apartment. Since that moose has come through our door, she has not stopped
chewing it. She loves eating the antlers and she will drag it from room to room.
I feel like that crazy woman from the movie Best
In Show who is terrified when her dog’s bumble bee is lost. Heaven forbid
that moose, or her squirrels for that matter, ever get lost. It will be a
terrible day.

Bear Down, Chicago
Last
Christmas, my parents gave me a framed Matt Forte jersey and I have been
keeping it safely in our room for about a year now. As soon as we moved in we
found a perfect spot for it, however, the wall was hollow dry wall. I had no
idea what that meant, but according to my dad and my boyfriend, it was
difficult to hang and it required something called dry-wall hangers. We
purchased the dry wall hangers from our local Ace. After mulling it over for a
long time, my boyfriend finally hung up the picture with his friend and it
looks great!! Just in time for Bears season!! Bear Down, Chicago…and every
other city.

Monkey on a Chain
When I
was sixteen, I remember having the largest keychain collection around. I had
one key and probably twenty-five obnoxious key chains rattling around in my
purse. Finally, my parents decided to intervene and buy me a high quality keychain
in hopes that I would discard the ratty lanyards and opt for something a bit
more subtle. Well, it worked. I received this monkey from Coach and I have used
it ever since, even though a good portion of the fur has rubbed off the monkey’s
arms. Every time I pull out my keys it is a playful reminder not to take myself
too seriously. It’s fun, charming, and semi-furry…yet still has a more grown-up
feel than a giant ballet shoe or a beanie baby.
Signature Scent
I have
never identified myself as a ‘signature scent’ person. Every time my perfume
ran out, I would relish in going to Nordstrom to select a new one after
smelling every bottle and every container of coffee beans on the shelf. Of
course, this was until I discovered Parisienne by YSL. I can honestly say that I prefer this scent over any other; it is
fresh, warm, and feminine without being overpowering. A few years ago, it was
discontinued and I only recently found out it was brought back as a
best-seller. Naturally, I bought the first bottle I could get my hands on. It
is a perfect perfume for the start of fall and I hope it stays in production
for quite some time.
